Chapter 2:
It was noon. Sam walked down 4th Avenue. It was empty. A blue bus was parked in the middle of the road. Were there people there? He got on the bus. There wasn’t anyone there. He was confused. He got off the bus and continued up the street. He got to the park. Then he sat on a bench and drank a can of soda. He looked out at the city. It looked peaceful. He didn’t hear any cars. Everything was silent. Someone was walking towards him. He walked towards the person, filled with emotion. When the man finally saw Sam, he aggressively ran towards him. Behind the man a ominously large group ran in his direction. Sam did what his instincts told him, “Run.” He dropped his bag and ran up the hill.

"relatively large" to describe the gang detracts from
building suspense and flow..... I think try some other ominous description maybe?
